The glass angels are by far the most difficult of the solid sculptural glass pieces designed and made by Iestyn. It has taken over eight years to perfect the technique for creating these unique pieces of artglass; each is constructed from 14 separate gathers of glass taken from the furnace at over 1070 degrees.
Each separate gather is shaped by eye, then applied onto the main form, re shaped then welded into position.
They can be purchased separately as wall mounted pieces, as freestanding sculptures or singly or in groups on highly polished 316 grade stainless steel panels. The wings are laser cut from 316 grade stainless steel, hand pressed and textured.
