The Merlin sculptural installation was commissioned by MOYA BUCKNALL FINE ART. We were asked to design and fabricate a 6 m tall structure to be placed on top of an existing concrete podium that in some way made reference to the industrial heritage of the site location; in the past the site was the production facility for producing the Spitfire wing components.

We originally wanted a greater contrast between the main spire and the wrap around section, specifying a naturally rusted element for the former.
