In 2003 Iestyn was asked to design a major water feature for the Chelsea Flower Show as a central feature in a prestigious Show garden.

'The Octopus Garden', sponsored by Hasmead plc was designed by award winning garden designer Marney Hall and was themed around an underwater sea-cape. The garden received enormous publicity and was featured regularly on the BBCs' TV coverage and in National and international Press; the 'Fish Ball' water feature became a central theme used in most of the publicity.

Our best moment was when the BBC shot a time-lapse sequence on the eve before judging with the 'Octopus Garden ' to the bottom left of the screen: at night the 'Fish Ball ' was the brightest single thing on the whole grounds and was used as contrast to the approaching dawn. Lighting in the form of state of the art LEDs was kindly provided by Dave Bryant of ' Spirit Design LTD' .
